Simone Bianchi is one of Italy's finest illustrators and he's coming to America. Simone's classical painting style has graced numerous art books, exhibitions and publications as well as album covers, and trading cards. In 2005, Bianchi began working with DC Comics on his first foray into American Comics doing the covers and interior of Grant Morrison's Shining Knight series. Currently, he is working on the Green Lantern monthly as well as providing his moody paintings for Batman and the X-Men. Simone Bianchi is currently one of the hottest young artists in the American comic scene as America begins to discover what Italy has known for years.
"My original web site was doing well but I knew that I had to create a bilingual web site as my work was being exposed to America and further into Europe," said Simone. "I had met IWS Creative Director, John Schwarberg at the San Diego Comic Book Convention in 2004, through my dear friend, Sal Abbinanti, and we had become great friends. I knew he could help me."
Integrated Web Solutions began working with Simone Bianchi early in 2005 to create a portfolio web site that would show his work both past and present and provide an opportunity for Simone to show the artwork that he was selling into private collections.
"Simone's original site was very nice but it was heavily predicted on Flash technologies. In reviewing his web site statistics, it was clear to me that he was losing almost 40% of his traffic before a user would even get to a homepage. Flash is a great tool but when your entire web site is predicated on it, we see time and again where that will cost you a lot of visitors," said John Schwarberg. "We used a great deal of DTHML in the creation of the new web site and we databased much of the content so as to allow for multi-language capability without the need for heavy maintenance costs. It's always somewhat intimidating for me to work with great artists like Simone. You hope to bring a good web site design to the table without distracting the user from what they are there to see which in this case is some truly outstanding artwork.
The new web site was launched in June of 2005 and traffic has nearly doubled in the past six months as Simone's fan base grows throughout the world.
"John and Rick do amazing work! We've increased the traffic a lot and I am absolutely enthusiastic about it since I consider the site an irreplaceable tool to promote my own work and to stay in constant touch with fans and friends all over the world," said Simone.
